In the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers conclude that people with low zinc intake had nearly two times the level of detectable alcohol versus people consuming the same number of drinks without any such zinc deficiency. Plus, the study found that the alcohol levels remained higher for longer durations for those with low zinc levels.
